ManyCam In Macworld

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

macworld06069buThe new issue of Macworld Magazine has an article by Deborah Shadovitz about ManyCam for Mac.  Go check it out online or buy the magazine.

“Typically, while using your Mac’s iSight camera with one program, you can’t use it with another. But ManyCam frees iSight from this restriction. ManyCam’s no one-trick pony though; it has other features–some helpful and others downright silly–that you’ll enjoy.”

Thanks Deborah!

ManyCam lets your iSight work with multiple applications at once

Frequent ManyCam Questions

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Lately I have been getting the same questions over and over so I thought I would post a few of the most frequently asked questions here on the Blog.

Question: How can I record a video with ManyCam?  Answer: ManyCam itself does not  have the ability to record a video.  You can use Youtube or any video recording service on the Internet with ManyCam.  Just go to the settings of the application you want to use and make ManyCam the video source, then make sure the ManyCam application is running.

Question: How can I make ManyCam work with Stickam, Ustream.tv, Justin.tv, Youtube, or any other Flash video website?  Answer: Right click or ctrl click the video window in Flash and you’ll see a settings window appear.  Click the webcam icon and choose ManyCam as your video source.  If you are using a Mac you may need to reboot first before you can do this.

Question: How can I uninstall ManyCam?  Answer: For Windows go to the add/remove programs control panel built into the Windows operating system and choose the ManyCam uninstaller. In Mac OS X find the ManyCam application icon at the top right of your Mac OS X menu bar and choose “uninstall”.

I hope this answers your questions.  For more details on how to use ManyCam with ceratin applications check out the applications page.  Thanks for using ManyCam!

AVG ManyCam False Positive Warning

Monday, March 9th, 2009

We have read several reports from users that AVG Antivirus is falsely reporting that ManyCam is a virus and this false report can block ManyCam from starting. Unfortunately this is not the first time AVG has falsely reported popular software as a virus.  AVG has reported World of Warcraft, Google Desktop, and even the Windows operating system itself as a virus!  If AVG has falsely reported that Windows is a virus and it damaged your computer there is a fix available here.

To uninstall AVG go to add/remove programs in the Windows control panel.  There are many other free antivirus software products that are available like Kaspersky or Avast that will allow you to use our ManyCam software.
