Adobe recently released a Flash update that caused ManyCam for Mac to stop working for some Macs with 64 bit processors. We hope to have a software update available within 30 days that solves this problem. Until our software update comes out you can run your Mac browser in 32 bit mode to solve the issue.
32 bit mode browser instructions
1. Launch the finder and open your applications folder.
2. Select the browser you are using with ManyCam (Firefox or Safari) and control click the icon and choose “get info” or hold down the “command” key and then the letter i.
3. In the info panel check “open in 32 bit mode”. Close the info panel and then launch the browser and it will then be running in 32 bit mode and this should allow ManyCam to work normally until we release a fix within the next 30 days.
Thanks for using ManyCam. We hope to have a fix out soon for our Mac users.
Have you ever been video chatting in Google + Hangouts while someone is also trying to video chat with you simultaneously on Facebook video chat or Skype? With ManyCam you can video chat with many webcam applications simultaneously with no problems.
ManyCam may add awesome effects to your webcam along with many other features, but one of its first features allowed the use of a webcam with many applications simultaneously. In fact ManyCam is called ManyCam because it allows you to use your cam with many applications at once.
If you have ManyCam installed on your computer you can video chat with Skype, while on Facebook Video Chat, while on Google Plus, while on Chatroulette, while on MSN Messenger and more! To make this work be sure ManyCam is set up as your video source on the application you are using by visiting our applications instruction page.
Once ManyCam is setup as your video source all you have to do is accept the video chat from your friend and ManyCam will take over and allow simultaneous video chatting in many applications.
It’s easy to use ManyCam with Facebook’s new Video Chat app, and the new Google Plus Hangouts system.
To use ManyCam with Facebook Video Chat go to the bottom left of the video window and choose “ManyCam Virtual Webcam” as your video source. You are now broadcasting through ManyCam.
While using Google Plus go to the “settings” at the bottom and choose the ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Do not choose the other ManyCam source or it won’t work. Next press “Save”.
If you still don’t seem to be broadcasting from ManyCam be sure you choose your video source in the ManyCam software. Open ManyCam then go to the “Sources” tab and choose the source you want to use like your webcam, a video, or something else.
Thanks for using ManyCam!
ManyCam 2.6.55 for Windows is now available for download!
This new ManyCam version fixes a problem some users were having with Skype, MSN, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Video Chat, and several other applications where the ManyCam source would not appear. Now ManyCam may have two sources available in some applications. If you have a choice of two ManyCam sources try using the default and if it doesn’t work for you then you can try to use the secondary source. If neither ManyCam source will work for you please post to our Blog or email us what operating system you are using, what ManyCam version you are using, and what application you are using that won’t work with ManyCam along with its version. To see what version of ManyCam you are using right click the icon in the bottom right notification area and choose “about”.
This new version also has many small improvements and bug fixes.
Due to the possibility of a security breach we have reset all ManyCam.com website passwords. When logging on to the site please click “forgot your password” or “password resent” to get your secure updated password.
If you logon to ManyCam.com with Facebook or Twitter then your password never transversed our servers at all, so it is secure. If you registered a nickname on ManyCam.com and you use the same password other places, for example your Email account you should change your password in those other places as soon as possible.
It’s possible that no breach occurred but we felt it was better to be safe than sorry and let you know.
Please note that only a tiny subset of our users registered at ManyCam.com because website registration is optional to use our software or download effects. If you use our software and never registered on our website or if you logged on with Twitter or Facebook then this problem does not apply to you.
