ManyCam 1.0.44 for Mac is now available for download. This new ManyCam Virtual Webcam version works with 32 and 64 bit processors and is also compatible with the new Mac OS X Lion Operating System.

I’m glad it works with Skype. So far with my Lion installs I have been able to get Flash broadcasting to work on any sites anymore on either of our Macs.
Hi, sorry for my poor english.
I’ve installed ManyCam for the first time on iMac with Lion and I have a problem.
If I open the application, I see the image from the camera with all the
effects so apparently it works.
But if I go into Skype and choose ManyCam (RGB) nothing happens, I see
a black box.
In other programs such ChatRoulette if I choose ManyCam,
I still see the cam image without the ManyCam effect.
What can I do?

Are you using the version we just released today? What Apple hardware do you have exactly? Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit processor? What type of webcam?
What version of Skype are you using (version number)?
It is working with Skype, Yahoo Messenger, but not iChat.

I confirm it works with flash and skype.
However there is still the CPU usage problem when playing vidéos :
1) play a video the CPU goes up to 60 70% on a macbookair
2) stop the video and the CPU is still on the same high level usage
3) you have to choose blank source and close the manycam windows to return to normal cpu
manycam is such a cpu hoag even with a simple sepia effect on the integrated webcam it’s hard to use on a normal basis

I use last manycam for Lion and skipe 5.1.0.935 but the same problem is with chatroulette.

I dont see many cam under my list of web cams.
It works only with http://www.crazychatroulette.it and bazoocam.org not wit all other flash based chat and not with Skype

New version doesn’t work with Sony Playstation Eye (PS3). Still have a black screen or Manycam crashes.
My PS3 Eye fully works with Macam.
Running Lion on iMac (27-inch, Late 2009).
When i will broadcoast on tinychat, manycam is showed in flash settings but when i click on broasting, there appears a bit information about how to use ur cam with lion on tinychat. So i follow the information. And at the end ‘click here to try your cam’ so i click on it, but nothing happens.
Can anyone help me with this?

When broadcasting video, the CPU usage us very high, and keeps the fan running flat out.
Would be great if this could be improved.
Similar products seem to manage this by having the ability to adjust the FPS …

Hi, I am running Snow Leo on a 2011 MBP. My ManyCam happily announced there was and update, so I installed it. It works, but it shows a 16:9 image in a 4:3 box – ie giving me a long face.
Also, to use ManyCam with some flash webca sites I find I have to first set ManyCam as video source in eg Skype, or else ManyCam “loses” use of the FaceTime cam when I go to select video source.

I’m not sure what changed since this version was working last night. Today I cannot get manycam to show up on any flash websites again..
A reboot fixed my issue… but it still seems to be a bit buggy.

Hey everytime I use manycam on a site called OMEGLE on my MacBook Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB memory, 320GB hard drive, the latest one that came out with mac lion, It makes the laptop slow and when its playing a video on source it makes the computer slow and crashes all the time. It wont play the video for more then 5 minutes. Everytime this happends i need to restart my laptop.
Please fix this i Love this site !

anyone know how to get a microsoft lifecam studio to show up under sources? my mac recognizes the camera right away and I can use it in things like photo booth, seems its just manycam.
Running ManyCam v1.0.44 on MacBook Pro core 2 duo – Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Fan are always on at maximum speed and cpu is 60-70% load… I think upgrade is needed, I can’t use it with this issues… I’ll come back to the previous version untill issues will be fixed… thanks.

My Camera is Not Working
Manycam 1.044 on a MacPro with a Rocketfish 2MP AF, os is Snow 10.6.8. Works in all applications except Polycom CMA. As soon as Polycom CMA displays the local preview image the application crashes. If i switch the CMA app to the camera itself instead of Manycam it works fine.

Hi, manycam works fine, but my face is stretched. It gives me a long face, very annoying. Can you work on it?
ManyCam for Mac works great, but it’s lacking a few useful functionalities.
MC has no menu, nor Preferences. Command+comma only takes me to Effects tab. Also using Command+tab, cycling through open Applications, ManyCam is not listed. It would be a great improvement if MC worked like any other app.
MC only outputs 320×240 (so it seems) resolution. I mean, come on, we’re not living in the 90s anymore, this is for several applications not an accepted resolution anymore. Also, aspect ratio, as people mentioned. You should be able to use a 16×9 source without stretching. Also, framerate, what is it now and would be great if could be changed.
No audio. At the very least, give a Preferences menu in which I can choose the preferred audio output, so I can choose Soundflower, for example. So I can choose to play videos with audio and in the receiving app I can choose Manycam as video and Soundflower as audio source.
Folders. I’d like to see an option where I can add folders in, for example, the still images. So I can have a folder filled with cartoon images, a folder with landscapes, a folder with tech images. Right now, it’s all dumped in random order and if I add a lot of images, I’m having a hard time browsing it.
Additionally, I’d like to see the ability to re-order the images and videos, by manual dragging or automatically alphabetically, for example.
Zoom and position setting for input is global. It would be an actual useful tool if it would change the zoom ad position only for the selected input, so I can set it for each input individually.
Bug: Text over video font color cannot be changed. It is always black.
Text over video scroll speed is way too fast. Needs option to tweak to personal preference.
Apart from that, the site needs changed, right now, when I go to ‘Get Started’ it only says it’s a Windows application. You need to make clear this runs on Mac too!
And I’m sure there’s more, but at least these things annoy me/give me the impression MC can be so much more. If these thing are added/changed/fixed in the future, MC will surely gain popularity.

I just upgraded flash to version 11, and manycam doesn’t show in the webcam list in the flash parameter panel.
I’m on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) using manycam 1.0.44.
Was working with Flash 10, but not with flash 11.
Agree with Nicosa … upgrading to Flash 11 stops ManyCam from appearing in the list of available cams.

Since update on Flash 11.0.1.152 unfortunately ManyCam 1.0.44 does not work anymore with Safari (others not tested yet)
Flash do not recognise ManyCam as a Cam, i have to quit ManyCam to get my Cam working with Safari and Flash.

My question, just the other week I was able to use many cam on different sites.
Once I upgraded to the new version and I got into my adobe flash player settings, it doesn’t show me the option to choose manycam virtual webcam as it did before. .. Got any answers brilliant mind’s of manycam??

stopped working on the recent lion update 10/15/11 on omegle and a few sites
command+i on Firefox, Safari or other browser, enable 32bit modus… and manycam works again
(only tried with FF)
