Update coming for Mac OS X Lion

Before Mac OS X Lion came out we tested with the developers pre-release software and found ManyCam worked fine.  Unfortunately we only had Mac hardware with 32 bit processors so we didn’t realize there was a problem with 64 bit processors.

Our ManyCam Mac fans quickly alerted us of problems with ManyCam on 64 bit processors and the new Lion OS.  We have now purchased a 64 bit Mac and we’re working as quickly as possible on putting out an update.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience.  Our Mac users are very important to us and we did test ManyCam for Lion in advance, but we neglected to test on a 64 bit processor.

If you have a 64 bit processor you should be able to run ManyCam if you restart and hold down the numbers 3 and 2 during your reboot.  We hope to have a Mac update that works with 64 bit processors available in the next 7-14 days.

Sorry for the delay. We are not a huge company with major hardware resources so we didn’t realize the problem. We will be more careful in the future, like maybe visiting an Apple store and see if they’ll let us do a quick test there. :)

What does holding down 3 and 2 during reboot do?

    Looking forward to update!

Restarting in 32bit mode creates another problem, you may be able to select ManyCam, but you can’t choose to use your desktop as a source. All you see is the mouse cursor, and a big black background

Any chance we could get a Beta build out to try?

  8. admin says:

    Dhad,

It should be out in a day or so, maybe next week at the latest unless we run into a show stopper. Maybe the dev team will send it to you if you posted with a real email, but I can’t guarantee anything.

  9. Nazmoth says:

    Hello I have posted with a real e-mail :)

Please dev team shoot us a copy of the beta

    Thanks

Hi, with Mac OS 10.7 impossible to add video file.
    Use ManyCam 1.0.44

    No open files button.

How can i add video ?

    Thanks

Hi, I’m using Mac 10.5.8… when I open videos I can hear them within ManyCam, but the audio doesn’t stream on the web. The only options are Built-In Microphone or Built-In Input, and neither of them seem to work with ManyCam. Does anyone know a solution to this problem, or what if anything I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi i use many cam. I cannot remove the many cam logo as they the text button is greyed out. Also every time i open it i have add vids it does not remember what has been added. Finally it frequently crashes on my macbook and even my iMac struggles.
Any chance of an update to resolve these issues?
